Occupation: Machine Designer
I am a machine designer by trade but my passion in life, other than my family, is the sport of walleye fishing. I truly enjoy all aspects of the sport, from an enjoyable day on the water with family and friends, to the intense competition of a tournament or circuit. I also enjoy teaching our youth about the sport of fishing and in 2003 became a certified fishing instructor for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. For many years I have participated in the youth fishing clinics in Holdrege and Harlan County. Earlier this spring I also helped with a casting clinic for Buzz’s Marine. These clinics have been very rewarding experiences. Promoting products, services and sharing my fishing experiences has become an enjoyable way of life. During the past 14 years I have promoted Smokercraft and Starcraft boats and the great service department for Mick Wise at Buzz’s Marine in Kearney, NE. For the past four years, I have worked as a Buzz's Marine Field Advisor and written short articles to be published on www.buzzsmarine.com.
A few of the highlights of my fishing career are:
1997 Angling Nebraska Walleye Circuit Point Competition –
1st Place
1998 Angling Nebraska Walleye Circuit Championship –
2nd Place
1999 Nebraska Walleye Association Top Gun Winner
Qualified for 2003 Cabelas’ National Team Walleye Tournament
Qualified for 2004 Cabelas’ National Team Walleye Tournament
Qualified for 2005 Cabelas’ National Team Walleye Tournament
Over 30 top 10 finishes in tournaments since 1997.
I really do enjoy sharing my experiences and knowledge in fishing with you. I will mainly be covering Harlan County reservoir however I will definitely let you know about the Cabelas’ National Team Championship that is being held on the Mississippi River at Dubuque Iowa the last of May and any other of my adventures this summer.
