Accounting Assistant/Finance Manager

Full-time

Buzz's Marine is seeking a Finance Manager to join our crew. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Manager is a key functional expert in the organization and is responsible for some accounting activities and all in direct financing. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills. All F&I personnel must maintain the highest level of ethical standards, will have a strong passion for people, and a solid knowledge of F&I best practices. The F&I Department is responsible for securing all deals while keeping the dealership in compliance with all local and state regulations and maintaining adequate profit levels set by the dealership management team. Our hours are Tuesday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Primary Duties
  • Sell and assist boat, motor, and trailer customers in securing financing for their purchase.
  • To seek reputable financial institutions to purchase retail contracts and maintain good working relationships with financing sources and government contacts.
  • Accurately complete required paperwork for submission to lenders.
  • Stay current on regulation changes.
  • To assist every customer with financing and insurance needs by working closely alongside the sale team to ensure they recognize and support the sale of F&I.
  • Maintain files on F&I prospects and protect sensitive personal protected and financial information.
  • Assist in creating financial portion of ads or promotions to sell F&I contracts.
  • Review and verify boat buyer packets, state forms and other such paperwork for the customer as completed by Sales Coordinator under the supervision of the CFO.
  • Review incoming trade titling requirements and oversee titling process for used inventory.
  • Regularly operate a computer, copier, phone, and credit card terminal and occasionally a point-of-sale register.
  • Enter and code accounts payable in accounting software under the supervision of the CFO.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly reports or vendor statements related to your job duties as described above.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Work Requirements
  • Excellent customer service, problem-solving and organizational skills and a working knowledge of basic mathematics. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer software skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office.  Some experience with computerized accounting or dealership management software preferred.
  • Ability to adjust to irregular hours.
  • Honest and credible with high ethical standards.
  • Detail oriented with excellent time-management skills.
  • College Degree or equivalent work experience in related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in bookkeeping or finance management (preferred).
  • Ability to work in the United States for any employer (required).
  • Valid Driver’s license (required).

Marine Technician

Full-time

We are currently recruiting a top individual with the right background in the marine repair industry to join our award winning service department. Will train the right candidate out of the ag or automotive industry to become marine certified. Besides being extremely clean work, marine technicians are compensated well. Marine technicians certified in Mercury and Yamaha earn $65,000 to $80,000 a year and a great benefit package.  Details available during interview. Your schedule will be Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and some Saturdays 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 

Primary Duties
  • Diagnose a wide variety of issues on new and used boats, motors, and trailers while utilizing computer diagnostics and old-fashioned intuition. Complete proper documentation for each work assignment.
  • Become marine certified.
  • Be comfortable using a wide range of shop tools and equipment.
  • Maintain cutting-edge knowledge of marine diagnostic technology.
  • Repair and rig a variety of boats including outboards, sterndrives, and inboards, as well as trailers.
  • Perform routine services and inspections.
  • Reports to the Service Manager any problems that may be detected when servicing customer’s equipment so the Service Manager can contact the customer directly.
  • To do the assigned work as efficiently as possible to satisfactory completion.
  • To work well with other techs in a team environment.
  • Furnish personal hand tools. (Special tools are provided by the company).
  • Assist in the set-up and testing of new boats. Drive boats to pit and test.
  • Complete winterizations and summarizations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Be a problem solver and be willing to tackle anything – Be able to work independently and efficiently.
  • Is supervised by the Service Manager and cooperates to meet service objectives as determined by Service Manager and management.
Work Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical or parts in boat, automotive, or agriculture industries required.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools, and use both hands.
  • Frequently lift 40-50 lbs. and assist in lifting 50-80 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to frequently enter and exit vehicles/boats.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, co-workers, and customers.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outside.
  • Completion of schooling required by Mercury or other vendors to stay up to date on specific operations. (Certified Technicians, Certified Master Technicians…).
  • Ability to work in the United States for any employer (required).
